Angelo Musco
Angelo Musco (18 December 1872 – 6 October 1937) was an Italian actor in theater and film. He was known for his comic abilities as well as for his carefully drawn psychological portraits. Life and career Born in Catania, Catania, Sicily to a Maltese people, Maltese father and a Sicilians, Sicilian mother, Musco worked at a number of menial, odd jobs in his youth, spending time as a barber, a Shoemaking, shoemaker, and a Masonry, mason. He broke into theatrical work by finding employment with the ''Opera dei Pupi'', the local marionette theater. In 1899 he joined the theatrical company of Giovanni Grasso, whose actors performed only in the Sicilian language. In 1902 Musco began a collaboration with Nino Martoglio, who had seen him in Rome in ''Malia'' of Luigi Capuana and ''I Mafiusi'' of Giuseppe Rizzotto and Gaetano Mosca. Rosina Anselmi
Rosina Anselmi (26 July 1880 – 23 May 1965) was an Italian stage, television and film actress. She was a prominent actress in the Sicilian language theater, especially in the province of Catania. Life and career Born in Caltagirone, Catania into a family of stage actors, Anselmi began acting with her father Alessandro, then with Nino Martoglio in some comedies written by him. She then joined the stage company of Mimi Aguglia, another important actress of the Sicilian repertoire, with whom she toured in North America. Anselmi went back to Sicily in 1910, and in 1914 she became the first actress, in spite of her status of a great character actress, alongside Angelo Musco with whom she acted for about thirty years, until Musco's death. ''The Matchmaker'' is a 1954 Broadway play by Thornton Wilder, a rewritten version of his 1938 play '' The Merchant of Yonkers''. History The play has a long and colorful history. John Oxenford's 1835 one-act farce ''A Day Well Spent'' had been extended into the full-length play '' Einen Jux will er sich machen'' (''He'll Have Himself a Good Time'') by Austrian playwright Johann Nestroy in 1842. ''Liolà'' () is an Italian stage play written by Luigi Pirandello in 1916, which takes place in 19th century Sicily. The original text was composed in the Sicilian dialect of Agrigento. The title character is a middle-aged single father by choice. He has three young boys, each by a different mother.
