Angelika Timanina
Angelika Igorevna Timanina (russian: Анжелика Игоревна Тиманина; born April 26, 1989, in Yekaterinburg) is a retired Russian competitor in synchronized swimming. Captain of the National Olympic team and a member of the city club of Moscow, she was an eight times winner of the World Championships, seven times winner of the European Championships. She won a gold medal in the women's team competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and announced her retirement on 1 July 2017 and working for Russian Football Union. Career She started synchronized swimming at five in the Secondary Children Youth School of Olympic Reserve "Trud" of synchronized swimming "Yunost Moskvy" No. 19 in Yekateriburg. After reaching a certain level, Timanina moved to Moscow, where she started to train in the Sport School of preparation of Olympic Reserve - "Trud." Synchronized Swimming
Synchronized swimming (in British English, synchronised swimming) or artistic swimming is a sport where swimmers perform a synchronized choreographed routine, accompanied by music. The sport is governed internationally by FINA (the ''Fédération internationale de natation'' or International Swimming Federation). It is traditionally a women's sport, although FINA introduced a new mixed gender duet competition that included one male swimmer in each duet at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and LEN introduced men's individual events at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships. Synchronised swimming has been part of the Summer Olympics program since 1984 and now features women's duet and team events. LEN European Aquatics Championships
The European Aquatics Championships is the continental Aquatics championship for Europe, which is organised by LEN—the governing body for aquatics in Europe. The Championships are currently held every two years (in even years); and since 2022, they have included 5 aquatics disciplines: Swimming (long course/50m pool), Diving, Synchronised swimming, Open water swimming and High diving. Prior to 1999, the championships also included Water polo, which beginning in 1999 LEN split-off into a separate championships. The open water events are not held during the Olympic year. The Championships are generally held over a two-week time-period in mid-to-late Summer; however, in the most recent Summer Olympics years (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020), the Championships were moved to the Spring to be moved away from the Summer Olympic Games. Svetlana Alekseyevna Romashina ( rus, Светлана Алексеевна Ромашина, , svʲɪˈtɫanə rɐˈmaʂɨnə; born 21 September 1989) is a Russian competitor in synchronised swimming that boasts 41 total gold medals from competing in four Olympic Games, seven world championships and six European championships. Natalia Sergeyevna Ishchenko (russian: Наталья Серге́евна Ищенко; born 8 April 1986) is a retired Russian competitor in synchronized swimming, five-times Olympic champion and nineteen-times world champion. Ishchenko announced her retirement from sports in April 2017. Since November, she serves as Vice Minister of Sports of Kaliningrad Oblast.
