Angelika Kahl, née Handt (born 10 July 1954 in Radebeul, Bezirk Dresden) is a retired East German sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. She won a gold medal in 4x400 metres relay at the 1974 European Championships, together with teammates Waltraud Dietsch, Ellen Streidt and Brigitte Rohde. She finished fifth in the individual event at the same European Championships, as well as fourth at the 1974 European Indoor Championships. Radebeul
Radebeul ( hsb, Radobyle) is a town (''große Kreisstadt'') in the Elbe valley in the district of Meißen in Saxony, Germany, a suburb of Dresden. It is well known for its viticulture, a museum dedicated to writer Karl May, and a narrow gauge railway connecting Radebeul with the castle of Moritzburg and the town of Radeburg. The Meißen area, where Radebeul is located, is one of the northeasternmost areas where wine is grown in the 21st century. The Bezirk Dresden was a district (''Bezirk'') of East Germany that lasted from 1952 to 1990. Dresden would be reabsorbed back into Saxony after the reunification of Germany. Brigitte Rohde
Brigitte Köhn ( Rohde; born 8 October 1954 in Prenzlau, Bezirk Neubrandenburg) is a retired East German sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres and later 400 metres hurdles. She won a gold medal in 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1974 European Championships, together with teammates Waltraud Dietsch, Ellen Streidt and Angelika Handt. At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal she won another gold medal in same event, with her teammates Doris Maletzki, 400 m silver medalist Christina Brehmer and 400 m bronze medalist Ellen Streidt. After the 1976 Olympics she married, bore a child and changed event to the 400 metres hurdles. She placed fourth in her new event at the 1978 European Championships.
