Angela Brunner
Angela Brunner (12 January 1931 – 17 June 2011) was a German actress. Personal life Brunner was married to German-Australian writer Walter Kaufmann. Their daughters are photographer Rebekka and actress Deborah Kaufmann. She was best known for Puppendoktor Pille for the DFF series Unser Sandmännchen. Walter Kaufmann (author)
Walter Kaufmann (19 January 1924 – 15 April 2021) was a German-Australian writer. Kaufmann was born Jizchak Schmeidler in Berlin, the son of a Polish Jewish woman, Rachela Schmeidler. He was adopted by the wealthy German Jewish couple Dr. Sally and Johanna Kaufmann at the age of three. While his adoptive parents were eventually murdered in Auschwitz, Kaufmann fled to England during the outbreak of the War, and was later deported to Australia on the infamous ship ''HMT Dunera'' in 1940. He soon joined the Australian army as a volunteer. After the war and demobilisation he worked in different environments and various jobs at the same time trying to further his education. Kaufmann joined the Melbourne Realist Writers' Group and had some of his stories published in the ''Realist Writer''. He became politically active and travelled extensively. ''Naked Among Wolves'' () is a 1963 East German film directed by Frank Beyer and starring Erwin Geschonneck and Armin Mueller-Stahl. The film is based on author Bruno Apitz's 1958 novel by the same name. The film was remade in 2015 under the direction of Philipp Kadelbach. Plot Buchenwald concentration camp, early 1945. A Polish prisoner named Jankowski, who has been on a death march from Auschwitz, brings a suitcase to the camp. When the inmates in the storage building open it, they discover a three-year-old child. Jankowski tells them he is the son of a couple from the Warsaw Ghetto, both of whom perished. Prisoner Kropinski becomes attached to the boy, and begs Kapo André Höfel to save him. Höfel, who is a member of the camp's secret communist underground, consults with senior member Bochow. He is instructed to send the child on the next transport to Sachsenhausen. ''The Heathens of Kummerow'' (german: Die Heiden von Kummerow und ihre lustigen Streiche, lit=The Heathens of Kummerow and Their Funny Pranks) is a 1967 East German-West German family comedy film directed by Werner Jacobs and starring Paul Dahlke, Ralf Wolter and Fritz Tillmann. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, written by Ehm Welk and published in 1937. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Senta Ochs and Alfred Tolle. Location shooting took place around Rügen. Plot It is the era before World War I and short before Easter in the village of Kummerow in Pomerania, and a group of boys revive a custom of "heathen baptism". Plot Communist miner Otto Brosowski writes to the Krivoi Rog's miners telling them of the harsh conditions in which he and his friends work, as the capitalist owners of the copper mine demand harder work. He receives a Red Banner from them. As the Nazis seize power, Otto and his family hide the flag from the authorities, taking great personal risks. In 1945, as the Second World War nears its end, the town is occupied by the Americans, who also wish to steal the Banner.
