Angel Reese (born May 6, 2002) is an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), and for Rose BC of the Unrivaled (basketball), Unrivaled basketball league. Nicknamed "Bayou Barbie" and "Chi Barbie", she played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins women's basketball, Maryland Terrapins and LSU Tigers women's basketball, LSU Tigers. Reese attended Saint Frances Academy (Baltimore, Maryland), Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was awarded 2020 McDonald's All-American Girls Game, McDonald's All-American honors in 2020 and was ranked the number two player in her class by ESPN. Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago. The Sky compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference. The franchise was founded prior to the 2006 season. The Sky experienced a period of success from 2013 to 2016, making four playoff appearances and playing in the 2014 WNBA Finals. The 2023 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. 2020 McDonald's All-American Girls Game
The 2020 McDonald's All-American Girls Game was an all-star basketball game that was scheduled to be held in 2020. The game's rosters featured the best and most highly recruited high school girls graduating in the class of 2020. The game would have been the 19th annual version of the McDonald's All-American Game first played in 2002. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was cancelled and the players were honored virtually. The 24 players were selected from over 700 nominees by a committee of basketball experts.
