The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB, known as English-language Separate District School Board No. 40 prior to 1999) is an Canadian English, English-language Separate school, public-separate school board for Toronto, Ontario, Canada, headquartered in North York. It is one of the two English language, English boards of education serving the city of Toronto. The board was founded on April 2, 1953 as the Metropolitan Separate School Board (MSSB) when nearby separate school districts were amalgamated as a singular separate school board in Metro Toronto. In addition to English-language schools, the board also operated a handful of French-language schools by the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Grand Toronto (CECGT), the board's French unit. Drewry Secondary School, formerly known as Lewis S. Beattie Vocational School and Lewis S. Beattie Secondary School is a small specialized vocational secondary school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO, , OQRE) is a Crown agency of the Government of Ontario in Canada. It was legislated into creation in 1996 in response to recommendations made by the Royal Commission on Learning in February 1995. The North York Board of Education (NYBE, commonly known as School District 13), officially the Board of Education for the City of North York is the former public school board for the former city of North York in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 1998, the provincial Government of Ontario passed legislation which amalgamated North York into the City of Toronto. As part of the amalgamation process, the NYBE ceased to exist. Today, administration of schools in North York is handled by the Toronto District School Board.
