Second Unit
A second unit is a discrete team of filmmakers tasked with filming shots or sequences of a production, separate from the main or "first" unit. The second unit will often shoot simultaneously with the other unit or units, allowing the filming stage of production to be completed faster. Function The functions of the second unit vary, but typically the first unit films the key face-to-face drama between the principal actors. Two frequent ways a second unit is used are: * Action sequences: Action sequences are often filmed in discrete locations, using stunt performers rather than the principal cast, and requiring significantly different filming arrangements than ordinary scenes. Olivia Hetreed
Olivia Hetreed is a British screenwriter and editor, and the current president of the Writers' Guild of Great Britain. In 2003, she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for adapting Tracy Chevalier's best-selling novel ''Girl with a Pearl Earring'' into the film of the same name. Early life Olivia Hetreed studied English at university. She first worked as an editor of documentaries and films. Later, she began her writing career by working on family films such as '' The Treasure Seekers'' (1996) and ''The Canterville Ghost'' (1996). Career In 1998, she wrote the short film ''Candy'', but found wider fame when she adapted ''Girl with a Pearl Earring'' into the 2003 film of the same name. Bolton School is a private day school in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
