Andrés Franzoia
Andrés Franzoia (born 21 October 1985 in San Pedro, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football forward or second striker. He currently plays for Defensores Unidos. Career Franzoia is a product of the Boca Juniors youth system, he made his professional debut on 29 May 2005 in a 0–0 draw with Estudiantes de La Plata. In his second game for the club he scored a goal in a remarkable 7–1 win over San Lorenzo. Franzoia had a number of opportunities to play in the first team with ''Chino'' Benítez and Ricardo Lavolpe as managers, but only played one game since Miguel Ángel Russo took over. In 2007, he joined Huracán on a year long loan. He performed well in his new club, scoring 9 goals in 25 games to help the team to finish well clear of the relegation zone following their promotion to the Argentine Primera. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as Copa Libertadores de América (), is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the '' Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Spanish American wars of independence and Brazilian Independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''Liberators of America Cup''". The 2005–06 Argentine First Division Apertura was a nail biter. After a head-to-head finish in the last weeks Boca Juniors took the trophy home. Gimnasia de La Plata will have to wait for their first-ever championship. The 2005–06 Argentine First Division Clausura saw Boca Juniors become the first team since River Plate in 1999–2000 to win the Apertura and the Clausura in the same season. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, also known as Copa Sudamericana (; ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL, the governing body of football in South America, since 2002.
