Andrée Martin
Andrée Martin (born 18 March 1949) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. Martin, a Montreal native, debuted for the Canada Federation Cup team in 1969 and over the next seven years featured in a total of 23 rubbers, registering four singles and four doubles wins. She was Canada's top ranked player in 1970, a year where she claimed the Canadian Closed Tennis Championship. In 1971 she featured in the singles main draw at Wimbledon, losing in the opening round to Betty Stöve Betty Flippina Stöve (born 24 June 1945) is a Dutch former professional tennis player. She is best known for reaching the ladies' singles final, the ladies' doubles final and the mixed doubles final during the same year at Wimbledon in 1977. S .... Canada Federation Cup Team
The Canada women's national tennis team represents Canada in the Billie Jean King Cup (previously known as the Federation Cup and the Fed Cup) tennis competition since 1963. They are overseen by Tennis Canada, the governing body of tennis in Canada. Canada is the reigning Billie Jean King Cup champion, winning the tournament in 2023. Betty Stöve
Betty Flippina Stöve (born 24 June 1945) is a Dutch former professional tennis player. She is best known for reaching the ladies' singles final, the ladies' doubles final and the mixed doubles final during the same year at Wimbledon in 1977. She also won ten Grand Slam titles in women's doubles and mixed doubles. Career Stöve began playing tennis internationally in the mid-1960s. She made her Grand Slam debut at the 1964 Wimbledon. A virus, complicated by a malfunctioning thyroid gland, forced Stöve out of tennis for an 18-month period in the late 1960s. Despite being advised that she should never play tennis again, Stöve recovered to have her best years on the circuit.
