Lembit Eelmäe
Lembit Eelmäe (26 September 1927 – 2 July 2009) was an Estonian actor. Biography Eelmäe was born 26 September 1927 in Holdre Parish, Valga County, Estonia. 1951 he graduated from the Estonian State Theatre Institute. 1951-1957 he worked at Endla Theatre, and since 1957 at Vanemuine Theatre. In 1954 he married actress Herta Elviste. Their son is the actor Andrus Eelmäe. In 2005 he was awarded with the Order of the White Star, IV class. He died on July 2, 2009, in Tartu, Estonia at the age of 81. Herta Elviste (12 June 1923 – 29 October 2015), was an Estonian stage, film and television actress and assistant theatre director whose career spanned nearly seventy years. Early life and education Herta Elviste was born Herta Marianne Brandt to Aleksander Brandt and Aglaida Brandt (''née'' Madisson) in the small borough of Pärnu-Jaagupi in Pärnu County. She was the youngest of three siblings; the oldest, a sister named Leida, and a brother named Meinhard who died in 1918. The family would later change their surname to the more Estonian sounding Elviste. She attended schools in Pärnu-Jaagupi and from 1939 until 1942 she studied ballet at the Elsa Putnin Pärnu ballet studio. Vanemuine () is a theatre in Tartu, Estonia. It is the first Estonian language, Estonian-language theatre. Stemming from the Vanemuine Society (1865), the theatre's first performance was Lydia Koidula's ''Saaremaa Onupoeg'' ("The cousin from Saaremaa") at the society's fifth anniversary.
