Andrey Panin
Andrei Vladimirovich Panin (; 28 May 1962 – 6 March 2013) was a Nika Award-winner Russian actor appearing in film and television, and a director. Biography Early life Panin was born on 28 May 1962, in Novosibirsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, the son of Agnessa (née Berezovskaya), and Dimitry Alexandrovich Panin. Two years later, the family moved to Chelyabinsk, then, when Panin was six years old, to Kemerovo, where he lived for 16 years. Acting career Panin was well known for the hit television detective show '' Kamenskaya''. In 2000, he had lead roles in both Valery Akhadov's ''Don't Offend the Women'' and Pavel Lungin's '' The Wedding'', as well as Alexander Atanesyan's action thriller '' 24 Hours''. He won the best actor prize at the Golden Ram film festival for his part in ''The Wedding''. Novosibirsk is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and the Siberian Federal District in Russia. ''Shadowboxing'' (; literally "Fight with Shadow") is a 2005 Russian 4-episode sports drama movie. The film stars Denis Nikiforov, Yelena Panova, and Andrey Panin, and it was directed by Aleksey Sidorov. The title track from the music score was performed by Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica. The film's sequel, '' Shadowboxing 2: Revenge'', was released in Russia in 2007. ''Dead Man's Bluff'' or ''Zhmurki'' () is a 2005 Russian black comedy/crime film. Director Aleksei Balabanov, who directed ''Brother'' and '' Brother 2'', uses cameo performances, by Russia's most prominent actors. The film depicts the anarchistic reality of the free-market streets of Russia in the beginning of 1990s, where the only real liberty was the freedom to kill. Plot The film opens in 2005 with a professor lecturing a group of university students on the primitive accumulation of capital. As an example, she mentions how capital was accumulated during the 1990s. The film flashes to Nizhny Novgorod in 1995, to an interrogation scene between a torturer and a gagged prisoner. Three masked men barge in with pistols. The leader of the masked men takes off his disguise and it is revealed that he is a police officer named Stepan.
