Andrew Westphal (scientist)
Andrew Westphal (born 28 July 1994) is an English cricketer who plays for the Mexico national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium fast bowler. He made his first-class debut for Cardiff MCCU against Glamorgan on 1 April 2014. He has also represented Glamorgan 2XI, Surrey 2XI and the Combined Universities XI. In September 2019, he was named in Mexico's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the men's tournament at the 2019 South American Cricket Championship. Cardiff South Wales MCC University, formerly Cardiff University Centre of Cricketing Excellence, commonly abbreviated to Cardiff MCCU, is one of six University Centres of Cricketing Excellence supported by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). It comprises Cardiff University, the University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University. Cardiff MCCU play three matches a year against first-class counties. For the first time, in 2012 two of these three matches were given first-class status. The first of these first-class matches was against Somerset, a regular early season fixture; it was held at Taunton Vale, additionally making it that ground's debut in holding first-class cricket. Argentina National Cricket Team
The Argentina national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Argentina in international cricket. The team is organised by the Argentina Cricket Association (ACA), which became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1974. With the sport having been introduced by British immigrants, Argentina played its first international cricket match in 1868, against Uruguay, with fixtures against Brazil and Chile following in 1888 and 1893, respectively. Beginning in 1912, there were regular visits from English teams, including the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on two occasions. The 2019 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament held in Lima, Peru from 3 to 6 October 2019. A men's and women's tournament was held, with 2019 being the sixteenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship and the ninth edition of the women's event. Most matches played at the 2018 women's championship were granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status, and 2019 was the first time that matches in the men's event were eligible for T20I status, since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its Members. Mexico were the defending men's champions, while Brazil won the 2018 women's event. 2019 South American Cricket Championship – Men's Tournament
The 2019 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament took place in Lima, Peru from 3 to 6 October 2019. This was the sixteenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship, and the first in which matches were eligible for T20I status, since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its Members. Mexico were the defending champions having won the event in 2018. The seven participating teams were the national sides of hosts Peru, along with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay. Colombia and Uruguay were not Associate Members of the ICC and so matches involving either of these teams did not have T20I status. Argentina defeated Mexico by four wickets in the final. Bowling (cricket)
Bowling, in cricket, is the action of propelling the ball toward the wicket defended by a batter. A player skilled at bowling is called a ''bowler''; a bowler who is also a competent batter is known as an all-rounder. Bowling the ball is distinguished from ''throwing'' the ball by a strictly specified biomechanical definition, which restricts the angle of extension of the elbow.
