Andrew Vaughan
Andrew Clayton Vaughn (born April 3, 1998) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Chicago White Sox. Vaughn played college baseball for the California Golden Bears baseball, California Golden Bears, and won the Golden Spikes Award in 2018. He was selected by the White Sox in the first round of the 2019 MLB draft and made his MLB debut in 2021. Amateur career Vaughn attended Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa, California. Playing for the baseball team, he batting average (baseball), batted .380 with 29 double (baseball), doubles, three triple (baseball), triples, one home run, 76 runs batted in (RBIs), 49 base on balls, walks, and 15 strikeouts in 332 at bats. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. Flexibility is needed because the first baseman receives throws from the other infielders, the catcher and the pitcher after they have fielded ground balls.
