Andrew Sambrook
Andrew John Sambrook (born 13 July 1979) is a former professional footballer who played for a number of lower-league English clubs including Gillingham, Rushden & Diamonds, and Grays Athletic. Football career Early career Sambrook began his career at Gillingham whilst still in full-time education at Rainham Mark Grammar School. Sambrook won a scholarship to Hartwick College, New York where he combined his football career with further education. Prior to his leaving the UK, he featured for England schoolboys. Professional football career On his return to England, Sambrook signed for Rushden & Diamonds, making over sixty appearances before transferring to Grays Athletic in the summer of 2005. He signed a one-year contract extension at the end of the 2006–07 season. In April 2007, Sambrook won the "Chairman's Player of the Year" trophy at the annual Grays Athletic awards ceremony. Chatham, Kent
Chatham ( ) is a town located within the Medway unitary authority in the ceremonial county of Kent, England. The town forms a conurbation with neighbouring towns Gillingham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham. The town developed around Chatham Dockyard and several Army barracks, together with 19th-century forts which provided a defensive shield for the dockyard. The Corps of Royal Engineers is still based in Chatham at Brompton Barracks. The Dockyard closed in 1984, but the remaining major naval buildings are an attraction for a flourishing tourist industry. Following closure, part of the site was developed as a commercial port, other parts were redeveloped for business and residential use, and part was used as the Chatham Historic Dockyard museum. Conference South
The National League South, formerly Conference South, is one of the second divisions of the National League in England, immediately below the top division National League. Along with National League North, it is in the second level of the National League System, and is the sixth tier overall of the English football league system. The National League South was introduced in 2004 as part of a major restructuring of the National League System. Each year the champion of the league is automatically promoted to the National League. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system.
