Andrew P. Harris
Andrew Peter Harris (born January 25, 1957) is an American politician and physician who has been the U.S. representative for since 2011. The district includes the entire Eastern Shore, as well as several eastern exurbs of Baltimore. He is currently the only Republican member of Maryland's congressional delegation. Harris previously served in the Maryland Senate. Early life, education, and career Harris's father was Zoltán Harris, an anesthesiologist who was born in Miskolc, Hungary, in 1911 and emigrated to the United States in 1950; his mother, Irene (Koczerzuk), was born in Zarice, Poland. Harris was born in New York, grew up in Queens, and attended Regis High School in Manhattan. Harris earned his BS in biology (1977) and his MD (1980) from Johns Hopkins University. Medical Corps (United States Navy)
The Medical Corps of the United States Navy is a staff corps consisting of military physicians in a variety of specialties. It is the senior corps among all staff corps, second in precedence only to line officers. The corps of commissioned officers was founded on March 3, 1871. Prior to the formal establishment of the corps, ships’ surgeons served without commissions, unless given one by the commanding officer. Those commissions would be for the duration of a specific cruise. The Medical Corps is one of the four staff corps of the Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), which is led by the Surgeon General of the United States Navy. Facing a shortage of trained physicians to serve the needs of the Navy and Marine Corps, the Uniformed Services Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972 was passed. Regis High School (New York City)
Regis High School is an American private Jesuit secondary school for Roman Catholic boys located on the Upper East Side of the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York. In 2017, Regis was ranked as the top Catholic high school in the U.S. by '' Town and Country Magazine''. History Regis High School was founded in 1914, through the financial bequest of a single (originally anonymous) benefactress, Julia M. Grant, the widow of New York City mayor Hugh J. Grant.
