Andrew Ford (born 1957) is an English-born Australian composer, writer, and radio presenter, known for '' The Music Show'' on ABC Radio National. Early life and education Andrew Ford was born in 1957 in Liverpool, UK. He attended St Olave's Grammar School in Orpington, Kent, then studied at Lancaster University with Edward Cowie and John Buller. As a student, a meeting with Sir Michael Tippett had a profound influence on him, when he told him "to forget about musical systems and trust his instincts". Career Ford was Fellow in Music Bradford University from 1978 to 1982. After moving to Australia, he lectured at the School of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong, NSW, from 1983 to 1995, and during this time earned a doctorate for his thesis on musical word setting from Elvis Costello to Elliott Carter. Lieutenant Colonel Sir Andrew Charles Ford, GCVO (born 5 February 1957) is a retired British Army officer, and current member of the Royal Households of the United Kingdom. From 6 January 2006 to December 2018, he served as Comptroller of the Lord Chamberlain's Office. Military career Following Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Ford was commissioned into the Grenadier Guards as a second lieutenant on a Short Service Commission on 8 April 1977. He was promoted lieutenant on 8 April 1979, and switched to a full commission on 21 August 1978. He was promoted captain on 8 October 1983, major on 30 September 1989, and lieutenant-colonel on 30 June 1998. He transferred to the Welsh Guards on 27 August 1999, and retired on 4 October 2005 (retaining a reserve commission), he also attended the Joint Service Defence College. He represented the Bahamas national cricket team in 20 matches. Ford made his debut for the Bahamas in the 2004 Americas Affiliates Championship against the Turks and Caicos Islands. Ford made his Twenty20 debut for the Bahamas in the 1st round of the 2008 Stanford 20/20 against Jamaica. Andrew Carl Ford (born 4 May 1954) is an English football manager and former professional player. Playing career Ford was born in Minehead. He played for Southend United, Swindon Town and Gillingham between 1972 and 1982. He also played for non-league Dartford. Managerial career Ford's first management job was at Gravesend and Northfleet (now known as Ebbsfleet United). He guided the team to the Isthmian League title in 2001–02 and several Kent Senior Cup successes, and then kept the side in the Conference Premier for several seasons before his resignation in 2005. He is the club's most successful manager. Shortly after leaving Gravesend, Ford became assistant manager of Stevenage Borough, spending a year at the club before leaving in 2006. Andrew Fordham (2 February 1962 – 15 July 2021) was an English professional darts player, commonly known as The Viking. He won the 2004 BDO World Darts Championship and the 1999 Winmau World Masters. Darts career Fordham made his first appearance on the stage at Lakeside in the 1995 BDO World Darts Championship and reached the semi-finals before losing to Richie Burnett. Another semi-final defeat followed in 1996, this time to Steve Beaton. On both these occasions, his victor then went on to claim the title. Second round defeats followed in 1997 (to Marshall James) and 1998 (to Raymond van Barneveld) before Fordham made it to the semi-final stage of the World Championship for third time in 1999, but was defeated by Ronnie Baxter.
