Andrew Dillon (sports Administrator)
Andrew Dillon is an Australian sports administrator, currently serving as the chief executive officer of the Australian Football League (AFL). Dillon's appointment was announced on 1 May 2023, and took over the reins from Gillon McLachlan on 2 October 2023. Early life and schooling Dillon attended Xavier College in Kew. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Laws from University of Melbourne and Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. Business career In 1994, Dillon was employed as articled clerk at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and then became a commercial solicitor. In 1997, he was appointed in-house legal counsel at Village Roadshow. In August 2000, Dillon commenced his career at the Australian Football League as its legal counsel. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the Laws of Australian football, laws of the game. Old Xaverians Football Club
The Old Xaverians Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Kew, an inner suburb of Melbourne. The club was established in 1923 by alumni of Jesuit school Xavier College in Kew. The club is one of the most successful in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, having won 14 VAFA Premier Section flags, with its first in 1981. It won an unprecedented six premierships in six years between 1995-2000. The OXFC currently fields nine teams in the VAFA competition (seven men's, two women's). It plays senior home games at Toorak Park, Armadale, while the other men's teams are based at Stradbroke Park, Kew. The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is a sports club based in Melbourne, Australia. It was founded in 1838 and is one of the oldest sports clubs in Australia. The MCC is responsible for management and development of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, a power given to it by the government-appointed MCG Trust and an Act of Parliament. Paul Sheahan
Andrew Paul Sheahan (born 30 September 1946) is a former Australian international cricketer who played 31 Test matches and three One Day Internationals as an opening and middle order batsman between 1967 and 1973. He made his first-class debut in 1965 for the Victorian Sheffield Shield team against New South Wales scoring 62 and 5. An elegant stroke maker and fine cover fieldsman, his highest first-class score was 202 for Victoria against South Australia in 1966. He made his Test debut the following year against the touring Indian side, scoring 81 and 35 in Adelaide batting at number three. Melbourne Racing Club
The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is one of three metropolitan horse racing clubs in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It began life as the Victoria Amateur Turf Club, in 1875 with Mr. E.C. Moore as the club's first Secretary. The Dowling Forest Racecourse in Ballarat was the location for the first VATC race meeting on Friday, 24 March 1876. Within six months the VATC were granted use of Crown land at Caulfield as a permanent home in Melbourne. History and race meetings In 1879, the club staged the first running of the Caulfield Cup, and two years later, introduced the Caulfield Guineas and the Toorak Handicap.
