Andrew Denton
Andrew Christopher Denton (born 4 May 1960) is an Australian television producer, comedian, Gold Logie–nominated television presenter and former radio host, and was the host of the ABC's weekly television interview program '' Enough Rope'' and the ABC game show '' Randling''. He is known for his comedy and interviewing technique. He is also responsible for introducing the troupe of '' The Chaser'' to Australian audiences. Early life Denton is the son of Kit Denton, writer and the author of the novel ''The Breaker'', about Australian soldier Breaker Morant. He went to Roseville Primary School in Sydney, before attending Blue Mountains Grammar School in Wentworth Falls. In 1977 he attended Guildford Grammar School in Perth. He then studied at Mitchell College of Advanced Education (MCAE) (now Charles Sturt University) in Bathurst, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 1982. ''The Money or the Gun'' was an Australian comedy/talk-show on the ABC network. It ran from late 1989 to mid-1990, with occasional specials until 1994. It was written by Andrew Denton, Simon Dodd, Bruce Griffiths, and George Dodd, directed by Martin Coombes and produced by Mark Fitzgerald. Each episode was based on a significant theme, with Denton interviewing a number of people as well as conducting vox pops on the street. ''House From Hell'' was an Australian reality television series that screened on Network 10 in 1998. ''House from Hell'' originated as a radio competition, which was part of the Triple M Sydney breakfast show hosted by Andrew Denton and Amanda Keller. It debuted on television on 8 October 1998. The contestants were placed in a house together for three months and involved in various stunts and ordeals. It was a precursor to Big Brother, and Denton has conceded in radio interviews that he regrets being involved in the program, due to the unacceptable level of human exploitation.
