Andres Lavik
Andres Johannesson Lavik (5 December 1852 – 1941) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Liberal Party (Norway), Liberal Party. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway in 1897 Norwegian parliamentary election, 1897 from the constituency Hordaland, Søndre Bergenhus Amt, and served one term. He hailed from Eksingedalen and was a municipal council (Norway), municipal council member in Hosanger from 1888. In 1910 when the new municipality Modalen was created, he became mayor there. He was a brother of Andreas Lavik, Andreas, Dore Lavik, Dore and Johannes Lavik, father of Nils Lavik and uncle of Herbrand Lavik. He was also the maternal grandfather of Svein Blindheim. The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party. Nils Andresson Lavik (8 January 1884 – 14 July 1966) was a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He was born in the former municipality of Hosanger in Hordaland County, Norway. Originally a member of the Liberal Party, he eventually joined the Christian Democratic Party who broke out of the Liberal Party in 1933. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Hordaland in 1934, and was re-elected on three occasions. Svein Blindheim
Svein Lavik Blindheim (29 August 1916 – 17 March 2013) was a Norwegian military officer, known for his resistance work during World War II. Personal life Blindheim was born in Voss as a son of educator Severin Nicolai Blindheim (1890–1925) and teacher Ragna Lavik (1891–1976). He was a maternal grandson of Andres Lavik, and thus a grandnephew of Andreas, Dore and Johannes Lavik and nephew of Nils Lavik. From 1945 to 1970 he was married to British citizen Joan Mary Tindale. Herbrand Lavik (19 May 1901 – 22 March 1965) was a Norwegian journalist, short story writer, novelist, poet, translator and theatre critic. He was born in Bergen as a son of newspaper editor Johannes Lavik (1856–1929) and Olivia Heitmann (1862–1944). He was a nephew of Andres, Andreas and Dore and Johannes Lavik and a first cousin of Nils Lavik. In 1930 he married French citizen Laure Jeanne Amélie Birnbaum (1910–1995).
