Andreas Brünniche
Andreas Pedersen Brünniche (4 April 1704 in Roskilde – 4 November 1769 in Copenhagen) was a Danish portrait painter, active in the period called either late Baroque or early Rococo. Biography Andreas Brünniche was the son of Peder Jacobsen Brünniche and Anne Marensdatter. He came to Copenhagen, where he got a job with Bendix Grodtschilling the Younger and from 1737 at Johann Salomon Wahl's workshop. As his student, he was a much sought portrait painter in the capital, but also raised customers in many other provinces. Trinitatis Church
The Trinitatis Church (''Trinitatis Kirke'') is located in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is part of the 17th century Trinitatis Complex, which includes the Rundetårn astronomical observatory tower and the Copenhagen University Library, in addition to the church. Built in the time of Christian IV, the church initially served the students of Copenhagen University. It is situated at the corner of Landemærket and Købmagergade. Roskilde ( , ) is a city west of Copenhagen on the Danish island of Zealand. Carl Gustav Pilo
Carl Gustaf Pilo (5 March 1711 – 2 March 1793) was a Swedish painter. Pilo worked extensively in Denmark as a painter to the Danish Royal Court and as professor and director at the Royal Danish Academy of Art (), as well as in his native Sweden. His prolific output in Denmark consisted mainly of portraits of royalty and the nobility, but included also genre paintings in the Dutch style. For over two decades, he was acknowledged as the foremost portrait painter in Denmark. In addition to Peder Als, other students of his were Per Krafft the Younger, Per Krafft and Lorens Pasch. Pilo is most famous for his masterly painting, "The Coronation of Gustaf III" commissioned by King Gustav III of Sweden. Johan Hörner
Johan Hörner (28 January 1711, Edebo, in Roslagen - 4 March 1763, Copenhagen) was a Swedish-born Danish portrait painter. Biography He began his studies with Johan Henrik Scheffel in Stockholm and worked there for a time.Biographical notes @ Kunstindeks Danmark. However, as a Pietist (a member of a Lutheran sect that was out of favor with the established church), he faced serious discrimination. As a result, he moved to Denmark in 1734, where he took lodging with a carpenter in a district of Copenhagen that was largely Pietist. For a time, he helped find refuge for other self-exiled Swedes, but soon came under scrutiny for his activities and moved to the countryside.
