Andrea Pozzato
Andrea Pozzato (born 15 May 1988) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper, currently contracted with Trapani. Career Juventus Pozzato began his professional career within the youth ranks of Serie A giants, Juventus. In 2006–07 season he was the backup of Matteo Trini along with Giorgio Merlano. Pozzato was graduated from the ''Primavera'' youth squad in 2007, and was loaned out to Tritium for his first full season, in attempt to gain regular playing time. The young keeper managed to obtain a starting position at the club, making 34 starts in his lone season. Lega Pro career In summer 2008 he left for Lega Pro Seconda Divisione team Canavese in co-ownership deal. In June 2010 Juve gave up the remain 50% registration rights to Canavese. Co-ownership (football)
Co-ownership is a system whereby two football clubs own the contract of a player jointly, although the player is only registered to play for one club. It is not a universal system, but is used in some countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It was formerly commonplace in Italy, though the practice has now been abolished there. This type of deal differs from third-party ownership, in that in the latter, the player's contract is owned by a non-footballing entity, such as a management company. Italy Co-ownership deals were common in Italian football, before being banned at the end of the 2014–15 season. Lega Pro Prima Divisione
Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Lega Pro Seconda Divisione was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. Usually it consisted of 36 teams, but in the 2011–12 season, there were 41 teams divided geographically into two divisions of 20 and 21. Group A covered northern and north-central Italy, Group B south-central and southern Italy. Until the 2007–08 season, the league was known as Serie C2. Before the 1978–79 season, there were only three professional football leagues in Italy, the third being Serie C. Giorgio Merlano
Giorgio Merlano (born 19 July 1988) is an Italian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eccellenza side Fossano. Career Merlano began his career within the Juventus F.C. youth set-up, and graduated the ''Primavera'' squad in 2008. Merlano was the understudy of Matteo Trini in 2006–07 season. Merlano became the first choice of the "spring" in 2007–08. Merlano was loaned out to A.S. Melfi for the 2008–2009 campaign, where he made 16 first team appearances. He returned to Juventus in the summer of 2009, only to be loaned out to F.C. Canavese for the 2009–2010 season. He spent much of the season as a second choice keeper, playing behind fellow Juventus loaner, Andrea Pozzato. With Canavese, Merlano did manage 4 league appearances.
