Andre Lipcius
Andre Martinas Lipcius (born May 22, 1998) is an American professional baseball infielder in the Chicago White Sox organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, for whom he made his debut in 2023. Career Amateur career Lipcius attended Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he was a four-year letterman and a team captain. He committed to the University of Tennessee, where he played with his brother and fraternal twin, Luc, and majored in nuclear engineering. As a freshman, he was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team, as he started all 52 of the team's games at first base leading the team with 11 doubles. He moved to shortstop as a sophomore and improved on nearly all his batting metrics, including jumping from one to seven home runs, and improving his average from .275 to .315. Toledo Mud Hens
The Toledo Mud Hens are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, and play their home games at Fifth Third Field. A baseball team nicknamed the Mud Hens has played in Toledo for most seasons since 1896, including a 50-year history as a member of the now defunct American Association. The current franchise was established in 1965, joining the International League; this league was called the Triple-A East for the 2021 season. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Mike Clevinger
Michael Anthony Clevinger (born December 21, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Chicago White Sox organization. He has previously played in MLB for the Cleveland Indians and San Diego Padres. Clevinger made his MLB debut in 2016. The Coastal Plain League (CPL) is a wood-bat collegiate summer baseball league, featuring college players recruited from throughout the nation. The league takes its name from the Class D level Coastal Plain League which operated in the area from 1937 to 1952. History The modern Coastal Plain League was formed with six teams in 1997.
