Andijan State University
Andijan State University named after Z.M.Bobur (often abbreviated as ASU or ADU) is a university in Andijan, eastern Uzbekistan. It was founded in 1939 as a branch of Fergana Pedagogical Institute. Today, 6905 undergraduate students and 149 postgraduate students are enrolled at the University. According to the information provided by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan there are 31 Professors, 151 PhD, 144 assistant professors and 198 assistant teachers. Andijan
Andijan (sometimes spelled Andijon or Andizhan in English) ( uz, Andijon / Андижон / ئەندىجان; fa, اندیجان, ''Andijân/Andīǰān''; russian: Андижан, ''Andižan'') is a city in Uzbekistan. It is the administrative, economic, and cultural center of Andijan Region. Andijan is a district-level city with an area of and it had 458,400 inhabitants in 2022. Andijan is located in the south-eastern edge of the Fergana Valley near Uzbekistan's border with Kyrgyzstan. Andijan is one of the oldest cities in the Fergana Valley. In some parts of the city, archeologists have found items dating back to the 7th and 8th centuries. Historically, Andijan was an important city on the Silk Road. Andijan Region ( Uzbek: Andijon viloyati/Андижон вилояти, ئەندىجان ۋىلايەتى, russian: Андижанская область) is a region of Uzbekistan, located in the eastern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern Uzbekistan. It borders with Kyrgyzstan ( Jalal-Abad and Osh Regions), Fergana Region and Namangan Region. It covers an area of 4,300 km2. Fergana
Fergana ( uz, Fargʻona/Фарғона, ), or Ferghana, is a district-level city and the capital of Fergana Region in eastern Uzbekistan. Fergana is about 420 km east of Tashkent, about 75 km west of Andijan, and less than 20 km from the Kyrgyzstan border. While the area has been populated for thousands of years, the modern city was founded in 1876. History Fergana first appears in written records in the 5th-century. However, archeological evidence demonstrates that the city had been populated since the Chalcolithic period. Like many other Central Asian places in the 6th and 7th-centuries, Fergana was ruled by the Western Turkic Khaganate.
