Anders Thomas Jensen
Anders Thomas Jensen (born 6 April 1972) is a Danish screenwriter and film director. His film ''Election Night'' won the 1998 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Life and career Jensen was born in Frederiksværk. He won the Oscar for Best Short Subject for his 1998 film ''Election Night''. He received Oscar nominations in the live-action short category for his films ''Ernst & Lyset'' (1996) and ''Wolfgang'' (1997). He also wrote the script for '' After the Wedding'' which was nominated for an Oscar as Best Foreign film in 2007, ''The New Tenants'', which won the 2009 Oscar for Best Live Action Short and ''In a Better World'' which won the Oscar for Best Foreign film in 2011 and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign film. Frederiksværk
Frederiksværk is a town with a population of 12,718 (1 January 2022) in Halsnæs Municipality on Zealand in Region Hovedstaden in Denmark. History A French cannon founder, Peyrembert, received permission to build a cannon factory here. Having gotten into difficulties, King Frederik V requested that his chancellery advisor, Johan Frederik Classen, take over the operation of the foundry. Under Classen's management the town blossomed, and there came a gunpowder mill, as well as light industry and handicrafts to the town. This resulted in Classen's being appointed major general. On 25 August 1756 the king issued a document permitting Classen to call the town "Friederichswerk". Classen was allowed to build a new foundry, Gjethuset, and it was constructed between 1761 and 1767. It has been used as a cannon foundry until 1928, and has been used for heavy industry until 1976. Stealing Rembrandt
''Stealing Rembrandt'' (original title ''Rembrandt'') is a 2003 Danish-language film. An action-comedy, the film concerns a father and son who accidentally steal a painting by Rembrandt. A Danish/UK co-production, the film was directed by Jannik Johansen and written by Anders Thomas Jensen and Jannik Johansen. The film was premiered at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. Relation to real events On 29 January 1999, Rembrandt's "portrait of a lady" (as well as another painting by Bellini) was stolen from the poorly protected Nivaagaard Samlingen in Nivå in Denmark. The depiction in the film of the level of security at that time is fairly accurate, as well as the involvement of bounty hunters as civilian agents in the case. Akiva Goldsman
Akiva J. Goldsman (born July 7, 1962) is an American filmmaker. He is known for making motion pictures and adaptations of popular novels. Nikolaj Arcel
Nikolaj Arcel (born 25 August 1972) is a Danish filmmaker and screenwriter. He is best known for his 2012 film '' A Royal Affair'' which won two prizes at the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards, as well as the 2017 American film ''The Dark Tower''.
