Anders Bardal
Anders Bardal (; born 24 August 1982) is a Norwegian former ski jumping, ski jumper. Career He participated in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah Olympic Park, Salt Lake City, finishing 25th on the individual large hill. He was also part of the Norwegian team that finished ninth on the team large hill at those same games. Bardal won his first individual Ski jumping World Cup event in Wielka Krokiew, Zakopane on 27 January 2008. He won four silver medals in the team large hill event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Ski Jumping World Championships (FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007, 2007, FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009, 2009, and two medals on both normal and large hills in FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011, 2011). FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 took place 22 February – 4 March 2007 in Sapporo, Japan. It was the second time this city has hosted these championships, having previously done so in the 1972 Winter Olympics. Sapporo was selected as venue by vote at the 43rd FIS World Congress in Portorož, Slovenia, on 6 June 2002. It also marked the third time the championships were hosted outside Europe in a year that did not coincide with the Winter Olympics; it was the first championship held in Asia. The FIS Ski Flying World Ski Championships 2008 took place on 21–24 February 2008 in Oberstdorf, Germany for the record tying fifth time, matching that of Planica, Slovenia. Oberstdorf hosted the championships previously in 1973, 1981, 1988, and 1998. For the first time, both events were held in the evening. Finland's Janne Ahonen won his record seventh medal though none of them have been gold with five silvers and two bronzes. Ski Flying
Ski flying is a winter sport discipline derived from ski jumping, in which much greater distances can be achieved. It is a form of competitive individual sport, individual Nordic skiing where athletes descend at high speed along a specially designed takeoff ramp using skis only; jump from the end of it with as much power as they can generate; then gliding flight, glide – or 'fly' – as far as possible down a ski jumping hill, steeply sloped hill; and ultimately land within a target zone in a stable manner.
