Anatoly Romanov (politician)
Anatoly Alexandrovich Romanov (; born September 27, 1948) is a Russian Colonel-General, a former deputy interior minister - the commander of the Russian Interior Ministry and the Commander of the Joint Group of Federal Forces in Chechnya, Hero of the Russian Federation. In 1995 he served as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the commander-in-chief of the Internal Troops of Russia, Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russia), Russian Interior Ministry. Assassination Attempt On October 6, 1995, in Grozny in the area of a tunnel under the railway bridge, a radio-controlled bomb exploded. The car in which Romanov was riding was in the center of the explosion. Romanov was seriously injured, miraculously survived, but was left disabled (Romanov went to the meeting to Khasbulatov). Ruslan Imranovich Khasbulatov (, ; 22 November 1942 – 3 January 2023) was a Russian economist and politician and the former chairman of Parliament of Russia of Chechen descent who played a central role in the events leading to the 1993 constitutional crisis in the Russian Federation. Early life Khasbulatov was born in Tolstoy-Yurt, a village near Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, on 22 November 1942. In February 1944, he was deported to Central Asia during the Chechen deportations. After studying in Almaty, Khasbulatov moved to Moscow in 1962, where he studied law at the prestigious Moscow State University. After graduating in 1966, he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He continued his studies, focusing on the political, social and economic development of capitalist countries, and received several higher degrees between 1970 and 1980. The Order "For Personal Courage" was established by Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on December 28, 1988. This decoration could be awarded to any USSR citizen showing outstanding courage and bravery during life-saving, keeping of Public-order crime, public order and safeguard of sovereign state, state property, as well as for fighting crime, environmental Disaster, catastrophes, and other exceptional events. The award was designed by and represents a silver gilded silver star with the words "For Personal Courage" and "USSR" written on it.
