Anastasis (album)
''Anastasis'' is a 2012 studio album by the British-Australian band Dead Can Dance. It is the eighth studio album by the band and the first after Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard disbanded in 1998. It was officially released on 13 August 2012 by PIAS Recordings, 16 years after the group's last album, ''Spiritchaser''. It is also the band's first album since it left 4AD. "Anastasis" is the Greek word for "resurrection". To date, ''Anastasis'' sold over 150,000 copies worldwide. In 2014, it was awarded a double gold certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, which indicated sales of at least 150,000 copies throughout Europe. Reception ''Anastasis'' received generally favorable reviews based on 16 critics at Metacritic. Dead Can Dance
Dead Can Dance are a British-Australian band founded in Melbourne in 1981 by Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, before relocating to London the following year. The Australian music historian Ian McFarlane described Dead Can Dance's style as "constructed soundscapes of mesmerising grandeur and solemn beauty; Music of Africa, African polyrhythms, Celtic music, Gaelic folk, Gregorian chant, Middle Eastern music, mantras, and art rock." Having temporarily disbanded in 1998, they reunited in 2005 for a world tour, and again in 2011 to release and tour the album ''Anastasis (album), Anastasis''. They released their most recent album, ''Dionysus (album), Dionysus'', in 2018, and toured Europe in 2022. SNEP (, in English National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing) is the inter-professional organisation that protects the interests of the French record industry. Originally known under the acronym SNICOP, the organisation was established in 1922 and has 48 member companies. Several handpan makers and brands have emerged in recent years, resulting from a growing worldwide interest in the Hang, which is an instrument developed by the company PANArt that is based on the physical properties of the Trinidadian steelpan, Indian ghatam, Thai gong, and Indonesian Gamelan. Resurrection
Resurrection or anastasis is the concept of coming back to life after death. Reincarnation is a similar process hypothesized by other religions involving the same person or deity returning to another body. The disappearance of a body is another similar but distinct belief in some religions.
