Anastasia Bayandina
Anastasia Bayandina (born 1 November 1996) is a French-Russian synchronised swimmer. She won a gold medal in the team free routine competition at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships The 2018 European Aquatics Championships took place in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Luss in the central belt of Scotland, from 3 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in Scot .... In December 2018, after being excluded from the Russian national team in the run-up to the 2024 Olympics, Anastasia and her twin sister, Daria Bayandina, contacted the French Swimming Federation. An agreement is reached, the Russian federation accepts the transfer, then Anastasia begins to train at INSEP. Naturalized in 2021 at the same time as her sister, Anastasia Bayandina is participating in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games in team and duo. Krasnoyarsk, Russia
Krasnoyarsk is the largest city and administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is situated along the Yenisey River, and is the second-largest city in Siberia after Novosibirsk, with a population of over 1.1 million. Synchronized swimming (in British English, synchronised swimming), also known as artistic swimming, is a sport where swimmers perform a synchronized choreographed routine, accompanied by music. The sport is governed internationally by World Aquatics (formerly known as FINA). It has traditionally been a women's sport, although FINA introduced a new mixed gender duet competition that included one male swimmer in each duet at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and European Aquatics introduced men's individual events at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships. From 2024, men are able to compete in the team event at the Olympics. Synchronized swimming has been part of the Summer Olympics program since 1984, featuring both women's duet and team events. In 2017, under the instruction of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FINA renamed the sport from "synchronized swimming" to "artistic swimming" —a decision that has faced controversy.
