Anastas Gerdzhikov
Anastas Georgiev Gerdzhikov ( bg, Анастас Георгиев Герджиков; born 28 February 1963) is an associate professor of ancient literature and professor of ancient and medieval literature. Anastas Gerdzhikov's research interests are in the field of Roman literature and the political theory of antiquity and the Middle Ages. He is the author of four monographs and over forty studies and articles in the field of ancient literature and the regulation of higher education. He is the author of the first Bulgarian translation of Aristotle's "Politics". On 1 October 2021, at the opening of the academic year of Sofia University, Anastas Gerdzhikov announced that he would run for President of Bulgaria, nominated by an initiative committee of public figures. Sofia University, "St. Kliment Ohridski" at the University of Sofia, ( bg, Софийски университет „Св. Климент Охридски“, ''Sofijski universitet „Sv. Rumen Georgiev Radev ( bg, Румен Георгиев Радев ; born 18 June 1963) is a Bulgarian politician and former major general who is the current president of Bulgaria since 22 January 2017. Radev previously served as higher commander of the Bulgarian Air Force. He won the 2016 presidential election, as an independent candidate supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, defeating GERB candidate Tsetska Tsacheva in the second round. Nevyana Miteva
Nevyana Mihaylova Miteva ( bg, Невяна Михайлова Митева; born 2 May 1970) is a retired Bulgarian swimmer. She competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 200 m butterfly and 4 × 100 m medley relay events and reached the final in the relay, her team finishing in sixth place. She has two master's degrees, one in physical education, and the other in "organization and management of operational and tactical formations of the Air Force", from a military academy. She is a lieutenant colonel working at the general staff office of the Bulgarian Army in Sofia. She has a brother, Dimitar Mitev. Ivan Ilchev ( bg, Иван Илчев), Ph.D. in history, the rector of Sofia University (the oldest and biggest higher education facility in Bulgaria) between 2007 and 2015. He specialized in modern history of the Balkan peoples. Ivan Ilchev was born on June 25, 1953, in Sofia. His father is Ilcho Dimitrov, also a famous historian and former minister of education. GERB ( bg, ГЕРБ, translation=coat of arms, acronym for Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) is a conservative, populist political party which was the ruling party of Bulgaria between 2009 and 2021. History GERB is headed by former Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov, the former mayor of Sofia, former member of the National Movement Simeon II and former personal guard of Todor Zhivkov in the 1990s.
