Anas Khattab
Anas Hasan Khattab () is a Syrian politician and former military commander who is currently serving as the minister of Interior in the Syrian transitional government since 29 March 2025. According to several reports, Khattab was previously affiliated with factions linked to al-Qaeda during the early years of the Syrian civil war. However, Khattab has denied ongoing ties with extremist groups and has described his role during the conflict as part of the broader Syrian opposition. He was the deputy commander of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham under Ahmed al-Sharaa, and the head of the General Security Apparatus within the group. Syria TV () is a Syrian television network owned and operated by the Qatari Fadaat Media network. It was launched in March 2018 in Istanbul, where its headquarters are currently located, as a pro-Syrian opposition network, during the Syrian revolution. It broadcasts a variety of programs and news shows in Arabic, covering society, politics, entertainment and culture. Tanzim Hurras al-Din (), sometimes referred to as Al-Qaeda in Syria, was a Salafi Jihadist organization that fought in the Syrian civil war. The group's former head, Abu Humam al-Shami, was the general military commander of the defunct Al-Nusra Front, and had fought for Al-Qaeda during the Third Afghan Civil War and the Iraqi insurgency.
