Anari (1975 Film)
''Anari'' is a 1975 Hindi-language romance film directed by Asit Sen. The film stars Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore, who made several films together throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Their co-stars include Moushumi Chatterjee, Kabir Bedi and Kader Khan. Plot Raj (Shashi Kapoor) and Poonam (Sharmila Tagore) are sweethearts cursed with extreme poverty. Raj must provide for his family, and arrange for his sister's marriage. Poonam fights for pennies to nurse her ailing mother, while her father drinks away his earnings. A job offer takes Raj away into a world of wealth and intrigue, but creates a situation where both parties lose their moral compass. Asit Sen (director)
Asit Sen (24 September 1922 – 25 August 2001) was an Indian film director, cinematographer, documentary Filmmaker and screenwriter, who worked in both Bengali and Hindi cinema. He was born in Dhaka, British India. He directed 17 feature films in Hindi and Bengali, and was most known for the films '' Deep Jweley Jai'' (1959) and ''Uttar Falguni ''(1963) in Bengali, (1966), '' Khamoshi'' (1969), (1968) and ''Safar'' (1970) in Hindi. Majrooh Sultanpuri
Asrar ul Hassan Khan (1 October 1919 − 24 May 2000), better known as Majrooh Sultanpuri, was an Indian Urdu poet and lyricist in the Hindi language film industry. He wrote lyrics for numerous Hindi film soundtracks. He was one of the dominant musical forces in Indian cinema in the 1950s and early 1960s, and was an important figure in the Progressive Writers' Movement. He is considered one of the finest avant-garde Urdu poets of 20th century literature. In his career spanning six decades, he worked with many music directors.
