"Anak" (, Filipino for ''child'' or more gender specific ''my son'' or ''my daughter'') is a Tagalog song written and performed by Filipino folk singer Freddie Aguilar. It made the finals for the inaugural 1978 Metropop Song Festival held in Manila. It became an international hit, and was translated into 51 languages. The lyrics speak of Filipino family values. The current copyright owner of the song is Star Music, a recording company owned and operated by the Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation. It was produced by Celso Llarina of VST & Co, with an arrangement by D'Amarillo (Doming Amarillo). Tito Sotto was the executive producer for this song as well as its album of the same name. Ferdinand "Freddie" Pascual Aguilar (; February 5, 1953 – May 27, 2025), also known by his Muslim name Abdul Farid, was a Filipino musician regarded as one of the pillars and icons of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). He was best known for his international hit, "Anak" (1978), which became the best-selling Philippine music record of all time, selling 33 million copies worldwide, and the only Filipino song translated into 51 languages. His rendition of "Bayan Ko" became the anthem of the opposition against the regime of Ferdinand Marcos during the 1986 People Power Revolution. He was heavily associated with Pinoy rock. Side A is a Filipino pop band formed in 1985. They gained recognition in the Filipino music scene in the late 1980s through to the early 2000s. They are best known for their single "Forevermore." In 1993, the group's third album went triple platinum and in the mid-1990s, Side A garnered two Awit Awards. History Side A was founded in 1985 by the brothers Rodel and Naldy Gonzalez, Mar Dizon, Gabe Escalon, Bobot Barroga and their original lead singer Ding Silverio. Carabao () are a Thai Rock music, rock / phleng phuea chiwit band popular in Thailand and other Asian countries. The group was formed in 1980 by university students Yuenyong Opakul (Aed), Kirati Promsaka Na Sakon Nakhon (Keo or Khiao) and Sanit Limsila (Khai) who met while studying at Mapúa Institute of Technology in the Philippines.
