Anahit (2014 Film)
''Anahit'' is a 2014 Armenian traditionally animated fantasy film directed by Davit Sahakyants, based on a screenplay by Davit, Naira Sahakyants and Lyulya Sahakyants (who also acted as co-director). The screenplay was based on the 1881 fairytale of the same name by Ghazaros Aghayan. The soundtrack was composed by Armen Martirosyan and Vardan Zadoyan. Produced by Robert Sahakyants Production, ''Anahit'' was released in Armenian cinemas on 27 December 2014. Production The film was funded by the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, and animated using traditional drawing animation combined with 3D computer-animation. In February 2013, there were 25 minutes left to animate. Director Davit Sahakyants stated that the financing provided the Ministry was enough for 20 minutes of animation per year. Shushan Petrosyan
Shushan Samveli Petrosyan ( hy, Շուշան Սամվելի Պետրոսյան, born 23 September 1967) is an Armenian singer, Honored Artist of Armenia, and a former deputy in the National Assembly of Armenia. Biography Shushan Petrosyan was born on 23 September 1967 in Yerevan. In 1987, she graduated from Terlemezyan College of Fine Arts' painting program, and in 1993, she graduated from Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts' graphics program. From 1989 to 1991, she worked in "Ardzagank" theater-studio (Metro theater) as a costume designer. She composed three performances: "Mythical Eternity", "Antigone", and "The Lord and the Servant". Armenpress (Armenian Press; hy, Արմենպրես) is the oldest and the main state news agency in Armenia. History and profile Armenpress was founded on 18 December 1918 by the government of the First Republic of Armenia as the Armenian Telegraph Agency (Հայաստանի հեռագրական գործակալություն). Akunk Folk Ensemble
Akunk ( hy, Ակունք) is a village in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. History The village was founded on the site of a Bronze Age settlement and to the west of Akunk, there is a cyclopean masonry, cyclopean fort, ''Klor Dar'', dating from between the 6th and 4th centuries BC. Hasmik Karapetyan (Armenian: Հասմիկ Կարապետյան; born 4 July 1977) is an Armenian pop singer. Career Hasmik started singing at a young age and composed some songs at the age of 13. (in Armenian) Her debut song was in 1995 at the "Bohem" festival, where she presented her song "Garun" (meaning Spring in Armenian). Tigran Petrosyan (singer)
Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian (, ; 17 June 1929 – 13 August 1984) was a Soviet-Armenian chess grandmaster, and World Chess Champion from 1963 to 1969. He was nicknamed "Iron Tigran" due to his almost-impenetrable defensive playing style, which emphasized safety above all else. Petrosian is often credited with popularizing chess in Armenia. Petrosian was a candidate for the World Chess Championship on eight occasions (1953, 1956, 1959, 1962, 1971, 1974, 1977 and 1980). He won the World Championship in 1963 (against Mikhail Botvinnik), successfully defended it in 1966 (against Boris Spassky), and lost it to Spassky in 1969. Inga Arshakyan
Inga and Anush Arshakyan ( hy, Ինգա և Անուշ Արշակյաններ) or the Arshakyan Sisters ( hy, Արշակյան քույրեր) are an Armenian folk singing duo. The sisters represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, eventually finishing in 10th place in the final. Early life Anush was born on 24 December 1980 in Yerevan. She graduated from S. Animation is a method by which still figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film.
