Kyle Tran Myhre (born January 23, 1983), better known by his stage name Guante, is an American hip hop recording artist, national slam poet champion (2008-2009), activist and educator based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Myhre's work has been published in ''Upworthy'', ''MSNBC'', ''Racialicious'', ''Feministing'', ''The Progressive'', ''City Pages'', ''Artists of the Year'' list and ''URB'' magazine's "Next 1000" list. He has also appeared on Minnesota Public Radio. Much of Guante's music explores social justice issues such as poverty, greed and discrimination. Haley Bonar
Haley McCallum (born 1983), professionally known as Haley and formerly Haley Bonar, is a Canadian-born American singer and songwriter who was raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. She has lived in Duluth and currently St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2009, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she spent a year writing songs for her album ''Golder'', which was released April 19, 2011. Strange Famous Records
Strange Famous Records is an indie hip hop record label based in Providence, Rhode Island. It was founded by Sage Francis. Artists on its roster include B. Dolan, Cecil Otter, Prolyphic, and Sleep, among others. History Strange Famous Records started out in 1996 as a way for Sage Francis to release music. Originally this involved tape dubbing and photocopying covers. In 1999, while working at the radio station WRIU (90.3 FM), he was allowed access to the station's computers and CD-Rs replaced the tapes. The albums were sold locally, raising money to press CDs at a manufacturing plant. In late 2005, Strange Famous Records enlisted the help of outside parties to create an online webstore www.strangefamousrecords.com. The online store was soon developed and a mail order business was set into effect. This was a "cash only" postal mail service. Chastity Brown (born June 1, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter and musician based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
