Amy Schauer
Amy Schauer (2 June 1871– 13 August 1956) was an Australian cookery instructor and author. Biography Amy Schauer was born on 2 June 1871 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. After completing her schooling in New South Wales, she took training in domestic sciences at Sydney Technical College. She later joined the Brisbane Technical College, and taught cookery from 1895 until 1922. She also taught at Nambour Rural School. She, as Ryan claims, became “an outstanding influence on the education of Queensland girls.” Her recipes regularly appeared in magazines including ''Sapford's Queensland Almanac'' and ''the Queensland Farmer's Gazette''. Sydney Technical College
The Sydney Technical College, now part of TAFE NSW, is a technical school established in 1878, that superseded the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts. The college is one of Australia's oldest technical education institutions. History The Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts was founded in 1833. In 1878, the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts formed the Working Men's College, which eventually became the Sydney Technical College in 1882. In 1911, the high school operations of the college became Sydney Technical High School. In 1923 Mary Ellen Roberts, who had become a teacher of scientific dresscutting and making at the college in 1900, managed the transfer the courses of women's handicrafts to the East Sydney Technical College. Brisbane Central Technical College is a heritage-listed technical college at 2 George Street, Brisbane, George Street, Brisbane City, Queensland, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1911 to 1956. It became the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) in 1965, and then in 1987 that became the Queensland University of Technology (QUT 1987 to present). It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 27 August 1999. The college was founded in 1908, and eventually became the Queensland Institute of Technology. While not able to grant bachelor's degrees, the college was able to issue diplomas which gave the recipients the right to "letters" after their name. In 1987 it became Queensland University of Technology and could award bachelor's degrees as well as higher degrees such as Master and Doctorates. Strathfield is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
