Amy J. St. Eve
Amy Joan St. Eve (born November 20, 1965) is an American lawyer and jurist serving since 2018 as a U.S. circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She previously served as a U.S. district judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois from 2002 to 2018. Early life and education Raised in Belleville, Illinois, St. Eve received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1987. She then attended Cornell Law School, where she was an editor of the ''Cornell Law Review''. She graduated in 1990 ranked first in her class with a Juris Doctor. The Office of Special Counsel was a prosecutorial unit within the United States Department of Justice that operated from 1978 until the expiration of its statutory authority on December 31, 1999. Peter Gosselin Fitzgerald (born October 20, 1960) is a retired American lawyer and politician who served as a United States Senator from Illinois. A member of the Republican Party, he served from 1999 to 2005. Susan Carol McDougal (née Henley; born June 27, 1955) is a real estate investor who served prison time as a result of the Whitewater controversy. Her refusal to answer "three questions" for a grand jury, on whether President Bill Clinton lied in his testimony during her Whitewater trial, led her to receive a jail sentence of 18 months for contempt of court.
