Amy Bockerstette
Amy Bockerstette (born October 15, 1998) is an American competitive amateur golfer and disabilities advocate with Down syndrome. She is the first person with Down syndrome to both receive an athletic scholarship to attend college and also to compete in a national collegiate championship. Early life Bockerstette (pronounced Bock-er-steady) was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From ages 5 to 12 Amy attended Three Rivers Montessori School where her classes were with peers in a general education classroom setting. After moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 2010, she attended Stetson Hills Elementary School. Her parents are Joe Bockerstette, a small business owner and former board chair of the National Down Syndrome Society and Jenny Bockerstette, a former paralegal and college instructor. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Golf, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not use a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. Sian Hayley "Leo" Proctor (born March 28, 1970) is an American commercial astronaut, geology professor, and science communicator. On September 15, 2021, she was launched into Earth's orbit as the pilot of the Crew Dragon space capsule. This mission was the Inspiration4 private orbital spaceflight. As the pilot on this mission, Proctor became the first African American woman to pilot a spacecraft. She was also the education outreach officer for the first ''Hawai’i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (HI-SEAS) Mission''. Allysa Seely (born January 4, 1989) is an American paratriathlete and gold medalist at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics. Background Seely was born on January 4, 1989. She grew up in Glendale, Arizona and graduated from Mountain Ridge High School in 2007. She attended Arizona State University afterwards. In September 2008 Seely raced her first triathlon as part of a group that raises money for cancer research and then joined the Arizona State University triathlon team.
