Ampang Recreational Forest
Ampang Recreational Forest (Malay: ''Taman Rimba Ampang'') is a lowland dipterocarp forest in Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Ampang River, which flows through the forest. The forest is one of the most popular nature sites in the Klang Valley. The stream and shady play-grounds are popular for family outings on weekends. History The Ampang Water Catchment Area was given protected status during colonial times as an intake point for piped water for the city of Kuala Lumpur. The Ampang Intake Point and treatment plant is still in operation just upstream of the recreational forest. The road to the intake point provided easy access from Kuala Lumpur via Jalan Ampang. This accessibility combined with the peaceful serenity of the location caused the state government to set aside the forest for public amenity. Dipterocarpaceae is a family of 16 genera and about 695 known species of mainly tropical lowland rainforest trees. The family name, from the type genus ''Dipterocarpus'', is derived from Greek (''di'' = two, ''pteron'' = wing and ''karpos'' = fruit) and refers to the two-winged fruit. Ampang, Selangor
Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just Ampang, is a town, a mukim and a parliamentary constituency straddling parts of the Hulu Langat District and Gombak District, in eastern Selangor, Malaysia. It is located just outside the eastern border of Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory. It is administered by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), which is the formal name of the township as well. Jalan Ampang or Ampang Road ( Selangor state route B31) is a major road in Klang Valley region, Selangor and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Selangor State Park
The Selangor State Park ( ms, Taman Negeri Selangor, also known as Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor) is a park located in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. The 914.41 square kilometre park was gazetted on by the state on January 25, 2007. Upon its establishment, it became the second largest park in Peninsular Malaysia with the largest being the Taman Negara. It is over 108,000 hectares in size and is the third-largest park in Peninsular Malaysia. Ampang LRT Station
Ampang LRT station is a light rapid transit station operated by rapidKL serving the Ampang Line in Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, just outside the eastern boundary of Kuala Lumpur. It is the eastern terminus for passenger services on the line. This station was opened in 1996, along with 17 other LRT stations. Features Ticketing machines and a CIMB Bank ATM were installed at the station concourse, as well as a convenience store. Ramps linking the Jalan Ampang bus station, the taxi stand, the car park area and the station concourse were added in 2012. A multi-storey car park, similar to the one at Gombak, was added in 2014.
