Amos Pieper
Amos Pieper (born 17 January 1998) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Career On 28 January 2019, Pieper moved from Borussia Dortmund II to 2. Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld. He made his professional debut for Bielefeld in the 2. Bundesliga on 8 February 2019, coming on as a half-time substitute for Brian Behrendt in the 3–0 away win against Jahn Regensburg. In the 2021–22 season, he was relegated from the Bundesliga with Arminia Bielefeld. In May 2022 it was announced that Pieper would join Werder Bremen, newly promoted to the Bundesliga, for the 2022–23 season. He moved on a free transfer. The 2020–21 Arminia Bielefeld season was the club's 116th season in existence and the first season back in the top flight of German football. In addition to the domestic league, Arminia Bielefeld participated in this season's edition of the DFB-Pokal. The season covered the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. Arminia was the team with the lowest budget in the Bundesliga. After a defeat in the first round of the DFB-Pokal they had a quite promising start in the Bundesliga season, but from the 4th matchday onwards they could be found among the last five teams in the league table, from the 6th matchday onwards amongst the last four teams. In March, the manager Uwe Neuhaus was replaced by Frank Kramer. A 2–0 win over VfB Stuttgart on the final matchday secured the 15th rank and thus their spot in the 2021–22 Bundesliga. The 2018–19 Regionalliga is the eleventh season of the Regionalliga, the seventh under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Format A new promotion format was used this season. The champions of the Regionalliga Nordost and Südwest were promoted directly to the 2019–20 3. Liga, as well as the champion of a third league determined in a draw. The other two champions participated in the promotion play-offs to determine the fourth promoted team.
