Amitav Banerji
Amitav Banerji (born 5 December 1926) is an Indian former judge who was Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. Career Banerji was educated at A.B.I. College, Allahabad and passed law from the Allahabad University. He was enrolled as an advocate on 27 August 1951 and started practice in the Allahabad High Court Allahabad High Court, officially known as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, is the high court based in the city of Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, that has jurisdiction over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad University
The University of Allahabad is a Central University located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is the 4th oldest modern University in India. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces Sir William Muir in 1873, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Allahabad, which later evolved to the present university. Its Central University status was re-established through the University of Allahabad Act 2005 by the Parliament of India. Allahabad High Court, officially known as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, is the high court based in the city of Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, that has jurisdiction over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 17 March 1866, making it one of the oldest high courts to be established in India.
