American Nightmare (band)
American Nightmare (briefly known as Give Up the Ghost) is an American hardcore punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. They have released three albums, one EP and a compilation of earlier released material under the name American Nightmare. History Formation (1998–2004) American Nightmare was formed when Tim Cossar and Wesley Eisold (who was then a roadie for Ten Yard Fight) met up with Azy Relph and Jesse van Diest in 1998. They recorded a demo tape in 1999, followed by their debut release, a self-titled EP on Bridge 9 Records in 2000. After extensive touring and line-up changes, the band recorded their second EP, ''The Sun Isn't Getting Any Brighter''. This was later combined with their self-titled effort to form ''Year One'', which was released by Reflections Records in 2001 and reissued posthumously by Bridge 9. The album was originally supposed to be titled ''Give Up The Ghost'' instead of ''We're Down Til We're Underground''. Instead American Nightmare changed their name to Give Up The Ghost due to legal issues with another band named American Nightmare. In My Eyes was an American, Boston, Massachusetts-based, straight edge band, that spearheaded the 1997 youth crew revival along with Follow Through, Ten Yard Fight, Bane, The Trust, Fastbreak and Floorpunch. The band and its members were a part of the hot bed that was the Boston music scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Members of the band also played in The Explosion, Fastbreak, and Panic. In My Eyes played their last show in October 2000, commemorating the second National Edge Day. The band was named after the Minor Threat song. The Hope Conspiracy is an American hardcore punk band from Boston formed in late 1999. They were picked up by Equal Vision Records and Bridge 9 Records before signing a deal with Deathwish Inc. Biography With the help of Mark Thompson of Tortuga and Hydra Head Records, The Hope Conspiracy headed to Godcity Studios in Norwood, Massachusetts to record their first demo in November 1999. It consisted of three songs ("Escapist", "Divinity Sickness", and "When the Doves Fly"). They produced 1000 copies of the tape, and managed to present 200 copies at their first show with black and white covers (which were quickly made on the way to the gig).
