Amelia Walsh (born 2 August 1992) is a Canadian female cyclist. She started as a BMX rider BMX, an abbreviation for bicycle motocross or bike motocross, is a cycle sport performed on BMX bikes, either in competitive BMX racing or freestyle BMX, or else in general street or off-road recreation. History BMX began during the earl ... at age 15. She won several provincial championships before she began representing her nation at international competitions. She competed in the UCI BMX World Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Prior to that she competed in the 2009 World Junior Championships. She was the Canadian BMX Women's Champion title holder in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Track cycling is a bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250m track.
