Amelia is a French airline founded in 1976. Since 2019, it has been the trading name of the Regourd Aviation group, a company that specializes in the rental of aircraft with crew, charter flights, sports transport, corporate transport, crew transport and aircraft maintenance. The company has also been operating scheduled flights for several years. The trading name is a tribute to aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. Amelia rents crewed aircraft to companies such as Air France, Air France Hop or Eastern Airways. Amelia also operates charter flights for various (semi-)governmental institutions. It provides crew transport for Air France or Brussels Airlines and operates scheduled flights between Port-Gentil Airport, Port-Gentil (in Gabon), Pointe-Noire Airport, Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville Airport, Brazzaville (Congo). The ATR 72 is a twin-engine turboprop, short-haul regional airliner developed and produced in France and Italy by aircraft manufacturer ATR. The number "72" in its name is derived from the aircraft's typical standard seating capacity of 72 passengers. The ATR 72 has also been used as a corporate transport, cargo aircraft, and maritime patrol aircraft.
