August Wilhelm Malm
August Wilhelm Malm (23 July 1821 – 5 March 1882) was a Swedish zoologist, entomologist and malacologist. He was the first Director of the Gothenburg Natural History Museum. Biography August Wilhelm Malm was born in Lund, Sweden. Malm was generally self-taught without an academic degree. In the years 1838–1839, he was student and assistant of Sven Nilsson (1787–1883), professor of Natural History at Lund University. He worked from 1840 as an assistant of Carl Jakob Sundevall (1801–1875) at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, zoological department in Stockholm. He studied zoology in Copenhagen during 1843–44. Robert Collett (2 December 1842 – 27 January 1913) was a Norwegian zoologist. Collett was director and curator of the Zoological Museum at University of Oslo. Robert Collett was born at Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the eldest child of Professor Peter Jonas Collett (1813–51) and Camilla Collett (1813–95). Edward Donovan (1768 – 1 February 1837) was an Anglo-Irish writer, natural history illustrator, and amateur zoologist. He did not travel, but collected, described and illustrated many species based on the collections of other naturalists. His many books were successful in his time. He died penniless in 1837 leaving a large family destitute. Personal life Almost nothing is known about Donovan's family background, education or early life, although he is known to have been born in Cork, Ireland, and was originally surnamed O'Donovan. This bottom-living skate lives in the North and south-eastern Atlantic Ocean in depths ranging from and water temperatures from . Its underside is smooth, but the upper side, as the name suggests, is very rough with many small thorns all over and 13-17 larger ones in line from the back of the head to end of the tail. William Charles Schroeder (1895–1977) was an American ichthyologist. He was born on Staten Island, New York. He, along with his lifelong colleague Henry Bryant Bigelow, made substantial contributions to the knowledge of the fish fauna of the western North Atlantic.
