Amanda Houston
Amanda Houston (born 8 April 1980) is a British weather presenter and DJ, working for ITV Weather. Career Houston is originally from Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria; however at 19 she moved to Newcastle upon Tyne, where she became an editorial assistant for the Evening Chronicle and a freelance journalist for Metro Newspaper. She also worked as a DJ and radio presenter. In August 2008, she became the main weather presenter for ITV Anglia. In October 2013, she moved to London and began covering weather forecasts for various ITV plc regions in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Since April 2014, she has been presenting national ITV Weather forecasts. LinkedIn Houston is also a yoga and mindfulness teacher. She has two step sons, born 1999 and 2001. Filmography * |
Weather Presenter
A weather presenter (also known colloquially in North America as a weatherman or weather broadcaster) is a person who presents the weather forecast daily on radio, television or internet news broadcasts. Using diverse tools, such as projected weather maps, they inform the viewers of the current and future weather conditions, explain the reasons underlying this evolution, and relay to the public any weather hazards and warnings issued for their region, country or larger areas. There are no basic qualifications to become a weather presenter; depending on the country and the media, it can range from an introduction to meteorology for a television host to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized university. ITV Weather
ITV Weather is the national and regional forecast shown on UK terrestrial network ITV, and is provided by the Met Office (except the Channel Islands forecast, which is provided by the Jersey Meteorological Department). Bulletins are usually broadcast after every ITV News and ITV regional bulletin, although during ITV News at 6.30pm national weather is broadcast live from the news studio. Cumbria

The ''Evening Chronicle'', now referred to as ''The Comical'', is a daily newspaper produced in Newcastle upon Tyne covering North regional news, but primarily focused on Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding area. The ''Comical'' is published by ncjMedia, a division of Reach plc. It has a circulation of 26,811 as of 2016, down −12.3% year on year.
