Aman Ullah Chowdhury is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament of Mymensingh-11. Career Chowdhury was elected to parliament from Mymensingh-11 as a Bangladesh Muslim League candidate in 1986 and Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1991 and February 1996. Death Chowdhury died on 8 June 2014 in Square Hospital, Dhaka. The Jatiya Sangsad ( bn, জাতীয় সংসদ, lit=National Parliament, translit=Jatiyô Sôngsôd), often referred to simply as the ''Sangsad'' or JS and also known as the House of the Nation, is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. Aftab Uddin Chowdhury ( bn, আফতাব উদ্দিন চৌধুরী, (1 March 1912 – 24 July 1985)), also known as Chan Miah ( bn, চান মিঞা), is a Bangladesh Muslim League politician, diplomat and the former Member of Parliament for the Mymensingh-10 constituency. Biography Chowdhury was born into a wealthy Bengali Muslim zamindari family in Dhampur, Bhaluka, Mymensingh District on 1 March 1913. His parents were Khan Sahib Abedullah Chowdhury and Halimunnesa Chowdhurani. In 1948, Aftab Uddin Chowdhury was the founding secretary of the Bhaluka Pilot High School. He was a member of the 4th National Assembly of Pakistan from 1965 to 1969, representing the Pakistan Muslim League in the Mymensingh-VI constituency. Bhaluka ( bn, ভালুকা) is an upazila of the Mymensingh District in Bangladesh. Bhaluka is one of the oldest small business hubs in the area. Etymology Bhaluka Upazila is named after the Bhaluka village and Bhaluka Bazar which is located in the union. There are three main theories behind its etymology: # When British rule was firmly established, the indigo planters set up indigo factories in different places to satisfy their own interests. After setting up an indigo factory in the area (known as Neelkuthi), the indigo planters used to go out hunting from time to time. In the forest they faced tigers and bears. Rahija Khanam Jhunu (21 June 1943 – 26 November 2017) was a Bangladeshi dancer. She was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1990 by the government of Bangladesh.
