Amalia Villarreal
Amalia Martina Villarreal (born March 27, 2006) is an American college soccer player who plays as a forward for the Texas Longhorns. She was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2024. She won bronze with the United States U-19 at the 2023 Pan American Games. Early life and college career Villarreal grew up in Lansing, Michigan, the older of two daughters born to Gretchen and Mario Villarreal. Her father played college football and baseball at the University of Olivet in Michigan. Villarreal played multiple sports growing up, including baseball, basketball, flag football, gymnastics, karate, and soccer. Her father coached her first soccer team, an indoor boys' team, but she was eventually prohibited from playing with them because she was a girl. Texas Longhorns Women's Soccer
The Texas Longhorns women's soccer team represents the University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I intercollegiate soccer competition. The Longhorns competed in the Big 12 Conference through the 2024 season and moved to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) on July 1, 2024. History The program played club soccer intercollegiately in the 1980s, including a 1-0 loss to UNC in the 1983 WAGS tournament. It was established as a varsity program in 1993 as part of that year's Title IX settlement. Since then they have won three conference championships – one regular season and two tournaments — and been to 14 NCAA tournaments, making it as far as the Sweet Sixteen in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2017. ECNL
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is a national youth soccer developmental league in the United States. It was founded in 2009 as a girls' league and added a boys' league in 2017. Competition format The ECNL is divided by age groups from U-13 through U-19, and into nine (girls') or ten (boys') regional conferences of nine to 16 clubs. Clubs play regular season matches within their conferences, and top teams and wildcards can qualify for a post-season national round-robin champions' league competition. Winners of the group stage compete in a finals tournament for the title of national champion. 2024 SEC Women's Soccer Tournament
The 2024 SEC women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southeastern Conference held from November 3 to November 10, 2024. The tournament was held at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida. The twelve-team single elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Georgia Bulldogs are the defending champions. Trinity Paula Byars (born January 29, 2003) is an American professional association football, soccer player who plays as a forward (association football), forward for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Texas Longhorns women's soccer, Texas Longhorns, earning three-time All-Big 12 Conference, Big 12 honors. WILX-TV (channel 10) is a television station licensed to Onondaga, Michigan, United States, serving as the NBC affiliate for the Lansing area. Owned by Gray Media, the station maintains studios on American Road (near I-96) in Lansing, and its transmitter is located in Onondaga. Lansing Catholic High School is a private school, private, Roman Catholic high school in Lansing, Michigan.
