John Uzoma Ekwugha Amaechi , OBE (; born 26 November 1970) is a British-American psychologist, consultant and former professional basketball player. He played college basketball at Vanderbilt and Penn State, and professional basketball in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Amaechi also played in France, Greece, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Since retiring from basketball, Amaechi has worked as a psychologist and consultant, establishing his company Amaechi Performance Systems. In February 2007, Amaechi became the first former NBA player to publicly come out as gay after doing so in his memoir ''Man in the Middle''. Dame Judith Obiajulu Amaechi (née Nwankwo; born 24 December 1970) is the wife of former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi. She is head of the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) which campaigns against HIV/AIDS, advocates the rights of the women and children, and promotes gender equity and Girl Child education. Amaechi was born on 24 December 1970 in Enugu Ukwu, Anambra State. She attended Federal Government Girls' College, Abuloma for her secondary education. Obiageri Pamela Amaechi (born March 12, 1999) is a Nigerian discus thrower who came third in the discus events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 African Championships in Athletics. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (born 27 May 1965) is a Nigerian politician, he served as the Federal Minister of Transportation of Nigeria from 2015 to 2022 under the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. He resigned to contest for Nigeria's presidency under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). Amaechi Dominic Igwe (born May 20, 1988) is an American retired professional soccer player who played as a defender. Career College Born in Belmont, California, Igwe played college soccer at Santa Clara University before signing a generation Adidas contract with Major League Soccer. Definitive Jux was a record label based in New York City. It was co-founded in 1999 by El-P and Amaechi Uzoigwe. History Definitive Jux was initially known as Def Jux. However, popular hip hop label Def Jam Recordings sued Def Jux over the name similarity in 2001. This lawsuit was settled out of court and the name was officially changed to Definitive Jux. In February 2010, El-P announced that the label, although it will carry on selling its catalog and merchandise, would be put "on hiatus" as a traditional record label, and that it would be going through some changes in order to keep up with the evolution of the music industry.
