Alyssa Solomon
Alyssa Jae Honrubia Solomon (born December 14, 2001) is a Filipino volleyball player. She is currently playing as an opposite hitter for the NU Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP women's volleyball tournaments. Personal life Solomon studied high school at University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Biñan then, transferred to Nazareth School of National University when she was in Grade 10 and played in the UAAP girls ’volleyball tournaments where she was awarded Best Opposite Hitter. She is currently taking a degree in Marketing Management at National University. Career Palarong Pambansa When she was in University of Perpetual Help System DALTA - Biñan, she was selected as a member of the Region IV-A (CALABARZON) team for the Palarong Pambansa, a national sports competition for elementary and secondary students. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The UAAP Season 82 volleyball tournaments started on September 4, 2019 with the junior tournaments and on March 3, 2020 for the senior tournaments. UAAP Season 85 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 85 volleyball tournaments are the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournaments for the 2022–23 school year. This is the first completed tournament since 2019. The collegiate men's and women's tournaments began on February 25, 2023. The high school boys' and girls' tournaments began earlier on February 13, 2023. This is the first tournament for men's, boys' and girls' since the COVID-19 pandemic. Tournament format The UAAP continued to use the Final Four with an updated format in stepladder prior to the start of Season 85, which was to scrapped the "undue advantage" bestowed to second seed team. The league reverted to its pre-pandemic Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule and protocols such as handshakes and court-side switches between the two teams. UAAP Season 85
UAAP Season 85 was the 2022–23 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Season 85 theme is "Rise as One", and the season host was the Adamson University. With just seven events in Season 84, the collegiate league will be bringing back the full athletic calendar of events for Season 85. The year 2022 will thus hold two UAAP seasons. UAAP Season 84 was held starting March 26, 2022, and Season 85 started on October 1, 2022. Opening ceremony was a pre-recorded one that commenced at 1:00 pm (PHT) on UAAP Varsity Channel. UAAP Season 86 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 86 volleyball tournaments were the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournaments for the UAAP Season 86, 2023–24 school year. The collegiate men's and women's tournaments began on February 17, 2024. The high school boys' and girls' tournaments began on November 4, 2023. UAAP Season 86 is the 2023–24 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season host is the University of the East (UE) under the theme "Fueling the Future". The opening ceremonies was held on September 30, 2023, or right after the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which was co-hosted by the Philippines. 2023 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship
The 2023 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the second collegiate pre-season tournament and the third tournament of the 2nd season of the Shakey's Super League. The tournament began on September 16 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre with ten teams from NCAA and six teams from UAAP. The UP Fighting Maroons and De La Salle Lady Spikers are both skipping this tournament due to rebuilding and recovery of players from injuries, respectively. 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship
The 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the inaugural tournament of Shakey's Super League. The tournament was held on September 24 to November 19, 2022, at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila. It features 18 collegiate teams from the two most prominent collegiate athletics associations in the country — NCAA and UAAP. NU Lady Bulldogs defeated De La Salle Lady Spikers (3–0) in the championship match and crowned as the inaugural champions of the tournament. De La Salle Lady Spikers settled for silver.
