Alyaksandr Naumeka
Major General Alyaksandr Viktaravich Naumeka (Belarusian: Аляксандр Віктаравіч Навуменка; Russian: Александр Викторович Науменко; born 26 November 1970) is a Belarusian army officer. He has been serving as the deputy minister of defense since 17 June 2024. He previously served as commander of the Northwestern Operational Command from 2021 to 2024. Naumeka faces sanctions from several governments for his presumed participation in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Biography Alyaksandr Naumeka was born in Belarus on 26 November 1970. The Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR, Byelorussian SSR or Byelorussia; ; ), also known as Soviet Belarus or simply Belarus, was a republic of the Soviet Union (USSR). Northwestern Operational Command
The Northwestern Operational Command (SZOK) is a command of the Belarus Ground Forces. It is headquartered at Borisov and is commanded by Major General Alexander Volfovich. The command includes a mechanized brigade and a mixed artillery brigade. It was formed in 2001 from the 65th Army Corps. The command traces its lineage to the 65th Army of the Red Army, a field army of the Soviet Union during World War II. It was formed in October 1942 from rebuilding elements of the first formation of the 4th Tank Army on the Don Front. The army was commanded by Pavel Batov until after the fall of Berlin, and served in various Fronts commanded by Konstantin Rokossovsky for the duration of the war. The Minsk Suvorov Military School (MnSVU) is one of the Suvorov Military Schools in Belarus and in other former Soviet Republics for military cadets.
